Here she is this afternoon fresh out of the nursery... Don't you just LOVE what the nursery lady did with her hat? We think it's adorable!
I took this picture just a few minutes ago...just before Allie started feeding her. (This is the most recent of all the pictures in this post.)
Well, as hopefully you all know (if I didn't talk to you, hopefully you at least got the voicemail I left...) our sweet little girl has finally arrived. Just to recap, she was born on February 8th, 2010 at 3:40 pm weighing in at 7 lbs 5 oz and was 19 3/4 inches long (some day I'll actually go back and look at everyone's guesses to see who was closest...). :)
After a slow, rather uneventful first several hours (about 7 hrs or so) of labor, the end came VERY suddenly...and what probably should have taken several more hours took just about 30 minutes! As is usually the case here in the high altitude, she came out looking very bluish, but very quickly gained some good color. She's just ADORABLE (and we're not partial at all...) :) and we still are shocked that she's finally with us. To me it still sounds very strange to say, "my daughter..." or anything along those lines--I honestly never thought we'd have a girl! But I'm already smitten and can tell she'll have me wrapped around her little finger her whole life. :)
One really fun thing that happened tonight was going home to get the boys and bringing them in to meet their new sister. Over the past week they've pretty much all been sick to some degree (including lots of coughing, sneezing, runny noses, etc.), so when we brought them in, we had the pediatrics ward give us some face masks that they could wear so that they could still hold the baby. They were all so cute...and Shane was especially taken with his new sister. He wanted to hold her again and again, kept asking if he could do certain things with her, gave her kisses, got VERY excited when Allie told him how she would probably love having Shane read books to her ("That's a GREAT idea Mom!") and can't wait to see her again. Jace and Brett were cute with her too, but they seemed to be more excited to eat the crackers that Mom had on her table. :) Oh well...what can you expect? :)
I'll upload more pictures later (including a bunch to Tonya's Snapfish account), but it's very late now and I at least wanted to post a few pictures (pretty much one with each of us holding her plus a couple more).

Here come the Masked Bandits! :) We thought this was cute so we threw this in too. :) Although they had the masks on pretty much the whole time they were here with her, we let them take their masks off to get a cute picture with her.
And the part that you're all waiting for: we finally decided on a name, and we hope you like it. We're going to call her Reese Monson.
