Garden of the Gods

Allie and the boys at Garden of the Gods (Pikes Peak in the background)

The silly monkey organ that Shane LOVED

Jace and Trav playing SkeeBall. At least he wasn't chucking the ball into the other lane in this picture.

Trav and the boys in Garden of the Gods.

Brett at 4 months. We are quite proud of the double chin he has going on.

We are lucky enough for Travis to have a schedule where he works a couple hours extra per day so that he can have every other Friday off. A couple of weeks ago we visited Garden of the Gods, a park south of Colorado Springs. It was a beautiful day and enjoyed hiking around and just being outside. It definitely gives me spring fever when the days are so nice.

After hiking around we went to Manitou Springs for lunch. When Travis and I were dating we tried to go to Pikes Peak one day and it was closed so we ended up spending the day in Manitou Springs. We had so much fun eating lunch at a park and playing games in a penny arcade. We were curious if it was still there and were excited that it was. Half the games didn't work (that well), and the other half were pretty hokey. (There was one that Shane wanted to do where you put the money in and a monkey banged a pair of cymbals together...that is it). We had a ton of fun and spent a couple of bucks for an hour or two of entertainment; you can't beat that. We love Colorado and we decided that every Friday that Travis has off we are going to do some sort of "adventure". (We went to the Factory Outlet stores this week with my sister-in-law and her sister Jenn...that is always an adventure with 9 kids :))

The other day we were sitting eating lunch and somehow the topic got around to glasses and contacts. Travis started to explain contacts to Shane and I stopped him telling him that I didn't think that Shane would understand. Travis looked at me and said, "He is smart, give him a chance."

Travis: And so they put things in their eyes, like Nana, to help them see better.
Shane: Oh, kinda like pirates!
So, I don't think that he grasped the whole concept of contacts.

I can't believe that Brett is now 4 months old. We got the t-shirt that he is wearing in the picture a month or so ago and I think it is hilarious. Every time I have put it on him though, within 5 minutes he has it covered with spit-up. (By the way in the picture, he just has some MAJOR drool this time:)). It was amazing that we got this picture of him smiling because we had to literally hold Shane and Jace back while we took the picture. He is such a trooper and deals with the tough love that his brothers give him well. He is going to be dishing it all too soon though. He is getting so big.

Jace's new favorite saying when he gets into trouble is, "I want my brother." Where did this come from. Normally they are screaming at eachother to get away. I guess I should appreciate these rare moments of brotherly love.

Good job on getting a picture of Brett solo! Riley's like that, too - I get out the camera and he's right there, in my face, the whole time. You'd think he had us all to himself for three years or something... :)

I'm glad to be on your blog now! You have such cute boys. Those pictures really remind me of Colorado (even though we don't miss it too much). Thanks for sending those cute pictures. Come visit us again!

I love Brett's shirt! Where did you get it? It's great you do all these things with your boys--and it's neat Travis can work those hours so he can go with you.
