Good Health!

I don't think you truly appreciate something until it is gone. Over the past week I have been fighting a recurring fever, chills, nausea etc. I just thought it was a terrible case of the flu and that it would eventually go away, but it didn't. After much persuasion, I did call the doctor and eventually found myself in the emergency room with an IV in my arm getting fluids, antibiotics, and pain killers for a kidney infection. I am a moron I know, but I did just think that it was the flu and that I would be able to kick it. There is nothing I hate more than to go to the doctor and they make you feel like a complete fool because it really isn't anything major. I am feeling better now though and thankfully I have a wonderful husband that was willing to take care of me and the boys.

Travis got home last week from his trip in Hawaii (the big island). We haven't really even had time to look through the pictures that he took so when he does I will have him post some. I wish that we all could've gone but with the cost of tickets and the fact that we have a ton of stuff that we want to do this summer it really wasn't very practical. The crazy boy twisted his ankle hiking (by himself) in Volcano National Park. Not only was he alone but it was getting dark. Crazy boy!!

The kitchen is almost complete. I am really happy with how it turned out, but I don't think that I will be doing any big projects like that for a while. I didn't realize just how much work it was. However, when you have two very eager helpers it does make things just a little bit harder. I was considering getting all new pulls for the cabinets but ended up seeing what they would look like if I just spray painted them. They look great! That saved a ton of money. Don't ever try to do something that requires thinking late at night though because it will never work out. I think that an ordinary person would've been o.k., but since I am lacking in the common sense department I made much more work for myself. I referring to my total inability to tape my tile backsplash so that I could paint it. I wanted to leave the grout the color that it was, so I got to taping and painting and it looked great until I peeled the tape off and there was not one tile that was completely painted. AHHHH!!! I am such a fool. Maybe I wanted it a different color anyway :).

Regarding the mistakes made with painting the tile backsplash in the kitchen, in Allie's defense, I will say that she was alone all week with 3 crazy boys driving her crazy, she was up until well after midnight--usually closer to 1 or 2 each night (morning) trying to get all the work done in the kitchen, and if that's enough, she was sick to boot! Allie--go easy on yourself! :)

Sorry to hear you were so sick. I know what you mean though, I'd end up in the ER too before I would take it serious. So, I got an email from Andrea today and I guess Staci is trying to put together a 10 year reunion over the 4th afterall. I'll let you know more info after I talk to Stac.

I'm so glad that you finally relented and went to the doctor. And... I can't wait to see your guys' house when we come up in July.
