Basically it was Christmas Day by the time we got everything put together. This year I really wanted to get the boys a swing set and after posting a request on Craig's List I received many responses. The one that we went after was from a woman going through a divorce who was wanting all the stuff gone from her house before her ex and his new woman moved in with all of her kids (Hell hath no fury, like a woman scorned right?) We rented a U-haul and Travis went out took it apart, loaded it and, brought it back to the house all by himself. I have to say that he was a little He-Manish in my eyes that day. While he was there the lady offered to throw in a trampoline for free. Of course we jumped on that and we had a heck of a time keeping the kids away from he side of the house until Christmas. Oh ya, I forgot to mention that all this taking down, loading etc happened the day that we got home from our hellish trip back from Chicago at Thanksgiving.
With the help of Tyler, he got the swing set put together that night while I sat patiently cussing the 100 plus screws for the play kitchen. I have never put something together that was so time consuming and with very little directions. We finally got done around 2:00 and were ever so glad when the little ones came bounding into our bedroom at 7:00 the next morning. It is so great to see their excitement. They really still believe in Santa and I know that I am going to miss that once they get older. Shane and Jace nearly came unglued when they saw the tramp and the swing set. I really wanted a HUGE reaction and they did not disappoint. Jace kept saying, "Oh my goodness!" Shane kept asking how Santa got it onto the sleigh.
Christmas is AWESOME with kids.
