Decorating the Tree

I love decorating the tree with the kids. I know that my tree is not the prettiest thing. I have seen so many trees beautifully decorated and I think every year that I am going to do that, but really I don't think that I will. We have gotten the boys a new ornament every year since they were born. I let the boys pick out their own this year and Shane got a race car which made real race car sounds(which Jace was really jealous of later), Jace got a Thomas the Tank engine, and Brett got a Very Hungry Caterpillar (his favorite book right now) ornament.

I love watching their eyes light up as we put the tree together. I grew up having real trees and I will admit that having that smell in your house is amazing. However, this has no mess, there is no fighting getting it put up (sorry mom and dad:)), and we don't have to take time to go get one. I am sure that the experience is half the fun, but really I don't mind missing out on that one. I HATE being cold.

We had our usual clump of ornaments at the very bottom, but I think I will miss that as the ornaments get higher and higher on the tree as they get older. You just feel like it is Christmas when you get the tree up.
