Shane's Haircut

Two day prior to Christmas, Shane informed me that he needed a haircut. This kid is crazy with his hair. If he feels his hair beginning to touch the tops of his ears he freaks out and insists that I give him one immediately. Well on this particular day Travis was not home and when I give haircuts I want to cut everyone's hair at once. It is not worth my time to give only one. This was actually the reasoning that I took with Shane in explaining why I wouldn't do it right then.

A couple minutes later I hear from the bathroom upstairs "Oh no! Oh no! Oh no!" Not exactly what you want to hear.

I ran upstairs to find Shane standing in front of the mirror with tears streaming down his face. He had scaled the linen closet shelves gotten the clippers from the top shelf and started giving himself a haircut minus any sort of guard. He looked up at me with a forlorn look and asked,"Mom, am I going to be bald forever?"

I lost it. Right then and there I couldn't help but bust up laughing. I know that had this been my daughter I would've been in tears as well. I begged him to let me take a picture of him but he would just start crying harder when I got the camera out. So these are the best that I can find.

I had to even it out with a blending guard, but within a couple of weeks you couldn't even tell what he had done. I think he learned his lesson!
