Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve was a busy, eventful night. We started the night by attending a fireside that one of the wards on our stake put on. It had beautiful singers, talented musicians, and some wonderful stories. It was a great way to put you in the right frame of mind and remember the true meaning of Christmas.

Afterwards we had a delicious dinner made by my SIL's father. Lonn Whitmill has got to be one of the most talented cooks and I really don't know how he can prepare so much food, so well, and in such a timely manner is beyond my grasp. We really enjoyed the good food and good company.

It wasn't until 9:00 that we finally got back to our house. We put out our plate of cookies and strawberry milk for Santa. I just threw a bunch of cookies and some random carrots onto the Santa plate and thought that it would be good, but after careful counting and going down the list of reindeer Shane discovered that we didn't have enough for Rudolph.

Travis read the story out of the bible while the boys put the characters into the stable as they were read. We wrote a letter to Santa, opened one present and then put them to bed. I really do love the excitement they get in anticipation of Santa coming. There were many threats of no presents if they got out of bed, but I don't think that it took them long to go to sleep; they were exhausted.
